I was really busy recently.
I don’t know why every teacher of different subjects likes to give homework these days.
We have two Java Program Codes to write. To me, it’s a very difficult mission.
Also, there is a subject about math has a lot of homework to do, but not so hard.
In addition, Midterm Report of Information Security Management is a big problem, because it’s a new thing to me. Now, I still have no idea to start it.
Tomorrow, Database will have a quiz. Although it is called quiz, I don’t think it will be easy.
As the Midterm Week comes, I am going to become very nervous.
On the other hand, that means I need to spend much time on school works.

Costume Play in the Lin Family Mansion and Garden
At the beginning, I want to explain what costume play is. I think there are a lot of people that don’t know what that is.
We always call costume play as “cosplay” in short.
It’s a kind of culture from Japan and it has become popular in Taiwan.
Because fans of comics, online games or animations like those characters so much, they try to make, ware similar clothes as the characters and act their movements.
In fact, this is one of my interests.
I play cosplay for more than two years and I had acted six characters of PILI glove puppet shows before.
Moreover, because of this interest, I made a lot of friends that have the same interest as me.

On 10/10, we went to the Lin Family Mansion and Garden(林家花園). My friend played a female character and I took photos for her.
Here are some of my works:
It was very special, so that many tourists want to take a photo with her.
We left before five o’clock.
We had a lot of fun that day.

How to use big and large?(Assignment 2)
How to use big and large?
I use the concordance tool “Virtual Language Centre”< http://vlc.polyu.edu.hk/> to find out sentences that contain big and large.
After reading those sentences, I conclude something as the fallowing:
Big
Using time:big +(n.)human beings, animals, organizations
Example:big brother, big boy, big bird, big government
Large
Using time:large +(n.)movements, things
Example:large action, large drink, large volume
We won’t say “Large boy! Come here”. It sounds strange.
Also, we won’t say “I had a big drink yesterday”.

Discovery After Using Online Dictionaries
When I was in elementary school, I got my first Chinese-English dictionary book.
This dictionary was fine, but sometimes I couldn’t find the word I wanted.
Then, in senior high, I bought my first electric dictionary.
It was nice because of its abundant vocabularies and categories.
However, examples were not enough to me.
Now, I use YahooKimo to check the words I don’t know.
Microsoft Office Word can also help me to correct my spelling and help me to translate some sentences.
There are various online dictionaries for everyone to use today.
Onelook is my favorite one, because it is helpful when I want to know the meanings of that word in different categories.
It lists out those categories. It’s convenient to me.
Oxford and Cambridge are good as well, because they have many examples and meanings.
They are all good tools and I put the links on my blog.Hope everyone can make good use of them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I use dictionary.com, trying to find out two similar words I used to be confused.
「draw」and「paint」
Draw and paint, they both have a lot of meanings.
What I want to know is when they both use as verbs, is the meaning in Chinese “畫” has any differences?
Here is I got:
Draw means: to compose or create (a picture) in lines.
Paint means: to produce (a picture, design, etc.) in paint.
Their meanings are a little bit different as what I knew at first.
Draw sounds like we use pencil to sketch lines for paint at the beginning.
Paint sounds more likely as using colors to create and then finish paint.
I think I am satisfied with these answers because they at least give me a line to differentiate between draw and paint.
